Gingivitis causes dental loss

Gingivitis causes dental loss
It is important to detect this disease early and control the plaque dentobacteriana using the correct technique of brushing, the use of paste, antiseptics and astringents
Gingivitis, which occurs between 70 and 80% of the adolescent and adult population, is an asymptomatic condition that causes the loss of teeth.

Gingivitis is an inflammatory, infectious and degenerative process that causes damage to the support structures of the tooth in varying degrees, and in extreme cases the bacteria that cause it can also cause deadly complications.
When gingivitis is not diagnosed early, it causes periodontosis, a condition that affects other supporting tissues such as bone and ligaments. In this sense, there is gum retraction, mobility and separation of teeth, hypersensitivity, pain, bad breath, as well as recurrent infectious processes.
This condition ranks second in the demand for stomatology services, after caries. The oral cavity is the most contaminated body because of the large number of microorganisms that are concentrated in that area and if they are not removed with a good brushing technique, gingivitis is caused.
This disease can also occur due to dentobacterial plaque problems in people who have had oral or maxillofacial surgery; during stages of hormonal changes, such as puberty or pregnancy, and even in patients with diabetes, epileptics, with kidney diseases, among others.
The best element to prevent any oral disease is proper brushing and oral hygiene. In addition, the use of a toothpaste with antibacterial or mouthwash can kill bacteria and reduce the amount of plaque in the mouth. And, finally, the extraction of dental plaque is the key to preventing gum disease and improving oral health.
