The General Council of Dentists and the Spanish Dental Foundation launch a campaign to promote sustainable Dentistry
The General Council of Dentists of Spain and the Spanish Dental Foundation have launched a campaign to promote sustainable dentistry in dental clinics in our country. Those interested can now register on the website www.odontologiasostenible.es , by clicking on the "participate" button. The term to participate expires on June 16.

This is an action aimed at the more than 40,000 registered dentists in Spain. Those who wish to participate will receive at the end of June a complete explanatory guide with numerous keys to promote sustainability in dental practice, as well as a vinyl to recognize their participation in the campaign, which they can place in their dental clinics.

To sign up for the campaign, those interested only have to fill out a simple survey that is already available on the aforementioned website about their work habits in consultations. With the data collected, the General Council of Dentists and the Spanish Dental Foundation will prepare a report that will later be used to analyze the degree of sustainability that exists both in dental practice and in dental clinics.

"The General Council of Dentists of Spain and the Spanish Dental Foundation have joined the latest initiatives proposed by the International Dental Federation with the Sustainable Dentistry campaign with the conviction that, by making small gestures, great results can be achieved", he explained. Dr. Óscar Castro Reino, head of the Collegiate Organization of Dentists.

Dr. Castro has indicated that, with this initiative, “we intend to help dentists and their teams to promote their activities towards a more sustainable practice. Doing so is good for the planet, for patients and for clinics. Each one, in the scope of their daily practice, will assess what gestures they can introduce, what actions they want to carry out and what level of commitment they want to contract. Whatever these may be, the sum of all these small efforts will allow us to move towards sustainability”, he explained.
